GENERAL SUMMARY OVERVIEW STATEMENT: The Division of Global Health Equity (DGHE) works to reduce health disparities and to improve medical treatment outcomes for the poor. The Division is currently involved in projects in the US (Boston and Navajo Nation) Haiti Peru Russia Rwanda Lesotho Malawi and South Africa focusing on infectious diseases (e.g. HIV and tuberculosis) as well as non infectious diseases (e.g. coronary artery disease diabetes addiction) and other health problems of major importance to society.
